Office Policies & Liability Agreement
By booking an appointment with Massage Arts NYC / Les Mains LLC, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted the following policies:
Service & Late Arrival Policy
Exact Time Slots: Each session lasts the exact amount of time for which it was reserved. Your session will begin and end at your scheduled time.
Late Arrivals: If you arrive late, your session will be shortened and will still end at the original scheduled time so we can accommodate subsequent clients. Late sessions cannot be extended. If a therapist chooses to go overtime, please understand this is a strict courtesy and not an obligation.
Right Service: Please read our service descriptions carefully before booking. Not all therapists are certified in every modality, so ensure you select the correct treatment for your needs.
Medical History, Intake & Privacy (HIPAA)
Intake Forms: As medical professionals, we are obligated to collect health data for your safety. Please complete and submit your online medical history form before arrival, or arrive 10 minutes early to complete it in our office.
Privacy: We strictly comply with HIPAA guidelines. Your personal and medical information is kept entirely confidential.
Contraindications: Please review our contraindications page prior to your session. If your condition requires a doctor’s referral or clearance, you must bring it to your appointment.
Age & Accessibility Policy
Minors (16 and under): Must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Both the minor and the guardian must sign the intake and medical history forms.
Seniors: We proudly welcome senior clients. If a client has difficulty understanding tasks or legal documents, we require a legal guardian to assist with the forms and signature.
Payment & Insurance:
All appointments are fully pre-charged.
Booking & Cards: A credit card is required to secure your online booking and will be charged immediately.
Cash Option: If you prefer to pay in cash on the spot, your credit card charge will be fully refunded at the time of service.
Venmo: Pre-payment can also be completed via Venmo.
Health Insurance: We do not accept health insurance. All services must be paid 100% upfront. Upon request, we will provide a formal receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential full or partial reimbursement. Please check your benefits with your provider beforehand.
Pricing, Gratuity & Reviews
Rates: Current pricing is listed on our website and is subject to change over time. Discounts cannot be combined.
Gratuity: To keep billing simple, gratuity is fully included in the session price (this also covers room rentals or travel fees for home massages).
Review Bonus: We deeply appreciate your feedback. Write an honest online review of your experience, and we will gift you 15 extra minutes on your next scheduled appointment.
Rescheduling, Cancellations & No-Shows
24-Hour Rule: You must cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours prior to your service time. Cancellations made under 24 hours are strictly non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-disputable.
Last-Minute Bookings: If you book an appointment less than 24 hours in advance, you are immediately locked into the time slot and responsible for the full price, regardless of cancellation or attendance.
Same-Day Time Changes: If you request to change your appointment time on the day of service, you will be charged 50% of the original slot plus 100% of the new slot, as we cannot rebook the vacancy on short notice.
Emergency/Medical Exception: If you cancel under 30 hours due to a medical emergency, you may reschedule one time at $70 charge per every 60 min of appointment but only by providing a valid doctor's note or proof of emergency. No refunds will be issued.
No-Shows: Forgetting or consciously skipping an appointment results in a 100% charge of the missed session. The therapist holds sole discretion on whether a no-show client will be permitted to reschedule future sessions.
Refund & Satisfaction Policy
No refunds on sessions booked 24 hours in advance or less
Comfort Levels: Your comfort is our priority. Please tell your therapist immediately if you prefer no conversation, no music, or a change in room temperature.
Packages & Gift Certificates: All pre-paid packages, gift certificates, and requested therapeutic follow-ups are non-refundable. They must be redeemed within 6 months of the purchase date. Missing a booking made via a gift certificate results in the immediate forfeiture of that session.
Responsibility & Liability Waiver
Independent Practitioner Liability: Massage Arts NYC, Les Mains LLC, and founder Marieta Szymura are not liable for any conditions, injuries, complications, or damages that occur before, during, or after services performed by another independent therapist. Each practitioner is personally and legally responsible for the care they provide.
Client Disclosure Duty: You hold full legal responsibility for any injuries that occur due to omitted, forgotten, or undisclosed medical conditions, surgeries, diseases, or medications on your intake form.
